Whilst on my walk around Essenside Loch, we came across a ”March” stone I forgot to include in my latest video, this stone looks to be number 1 on the map, number 3 I never seen but could that be the moss ridden one I cleaned? And number 2 is the stone I came across at the end of the walk. Anyway, here’s the lost footage…

Good points thanks Ged, interesting how stones and sacred sites can be so powerful, whichever way. Am not 100% on ley ‘energies’ either but some interesting theories and like to consider them. Have learned loads from dowsers on YT like GG as they know their history and landscape. Water board workers still use dowsing rods to find burst pipes, my husband witnessed them doing that at his work. An old art. Some relate leys to geology, rock type, fault lines, water etc. and then there’s how birds/animals navigate and migrate. Crichton Miller says ‘lays’ for navigating between churches and Harry Bell thought they are lines of sight . Also masons into geometry in buildings and town planning, e.g. the capitals of Britain being a right angled triangle. Who knows, it’s a subtle art/science. I tried it and got jack shit! 😂
Great connection you made to the stone at Torphichen, Ged. It does look similar. I remembered this video from Grahame Gardner about the Refuge Stones at Torphichen. Grahame thought they may be Neolithic and taken from Cairnpapple to bring “the energy from the old into the new”. He also suggests a connection to Roman altars. Youtube video link below:

This article 👇🏻 is also good, calls them Sanctuary Stones and suggests the cup marks were made in the Bronze Age phase at Cairnpapple.

Do you think there is a connection? Also wonder who placed/moved them. Bishops of Glasgow, Cistercians from Melrose? Nice one detective Ged! 🧐👍🏻
